Come learn the techniques needed to effectively adapt a story or novel into a screenplay ready for the screen. You will be immersed in the tested tricks to turn your novel, memoir or short story into a screenplay ready to film. We will view/read some examples of page to screen adaptations and make some useful comparisons, explore tools and techniques in transforming action, dialogue and exposition in prose into visual storytelling, and finish by reading sections and give feedback to one another's film adaptation projects.
No prior screenwriting experience is needed. If you are an adventurous writer interested in crossing mediums into the world of film, a hybrid artist, or are simply looking for ways to approach your creativity from another angle, this workshop is appropriate for you.
